Last year's Drama Club supervisor Ms. Kate Sheridan has returned to Sky View and will be running open Drama Club meetings every Monday after school from 2:30-3:30pm in the Pocket Theatre. All students are welcome, regardless of experience, on a drop-in basis to play theatre games, learn about the basics of acting, work on creating original improvisation & comedy sketches, short films & viral videos, and more! Feel free to come by, bring a friend, show off your talents or learn a new one. Additionally, Drama Club will be sponsoring an entry into the 2017 METG Middle School Drama Festival (see block to right), hosting two "coffeehouse" talent show fundraisers, and is hoping to take a field trip to see a professional show in the spring!
DRAMA FESTIVAL 2017
DRAMA FESTIVAL 2017
This year's METG Middle School Drama Festival will be held on April 30, 2017. Sky View's production will be "The Struggles" by Kendra Thomas, an ensemble drama about a girl with learning disabilities who learns to view her struggles as strengths. The cast is already in rehearsals, but we are still accepting applications for crew members! If you'd like to help with set building, lights & sound, costumes & makeup, or just get involved in a great new opportunity, please contact Ms. Kate in Room 500 or via email at katherine.sheridan@leominster.mec.edu. Keep an eye out for our public performance at the end of April!
Volunteer!
If you are a parent, educator, theatre artist or local business looking to help this year's Drama Club & METG Festival Production, there are many ways to help! In addition to financial sponsorship, the Sky View Drama Club is always appreciative of donations of costumes, paint & lumber, and theatrical expertise (or willingness to learn...) to assist with set building, costume alterations, publicity and more. Please email Ms. Kate (katherine.sheridan@leominster.mec.edu) for more information!
